Dr Gamini Premaratne holds a master’s degree in Policy Economics and a Ph.D. in Economics with a specialisation in Econometrics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a postgraduate diploma in statistics. Dr. Gamini has experience serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the National University of Singapore and as a Statistician at the Department of Census and Statistics in Sri Lanka. Currently, he works as a Senior Assistant Professor at the UBD School of Business and Economics. His research interests include behavioral finance, volatility, and spillover models, applied economics, financial markets, and risk management.

Dr. Gamini has published in both local and international refereed journals and contributed book chapters to works such as the Journal of Financial Econometrics, the Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference, Energy Economics, Communications in Statistics, and the Handbook of Asian Finance. He is a skilled trainer in data analysis with extensive experience in teaching statistical methods, modelling, and software such as Eviews, GAUSS, RATS, and R programming. Additionally, he is an expert in sample surveys, including questionnaire design, data processing, and data summarisation.

Dr Pang Wei Loon is an Assistant Professor in the School of Business and Economics at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD). He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Sussex, UK, specializing in inflation and trade in China. His research interests include International Trade Integration, China’s
Role in the World Economy, and Development Economics. With a commitment to academic excellence, Pang Wei Loon continues to make significant contributions to the scholarly community, his work contributes to provide more understanding in critical areas of economic development and international trade.
